Ugh. The situation in Israel is horrible and my heart goes out to the students who died today in Jerusalem, and to the Palestinians who died not long ago. I just wish that peace talks would resume and freaking Hamas would stop being such horrible people. And I wish that the people who elected Hamas realize the damage that they've propagated and someday soon people will stop hating.

Huh. It's been exactly a year since ITW; I just realized it as I was writing the table of contents for my make-up portfolio. So much time has gone by and so much has changed since then, but at the same time it seems like almost nothing has changed. Some battles that I was fighting a year ago I am still fighting, new ones have cropped up, and some have faded away and now it doesn't matter whether they were won or lost.

I guess ITW was just really important in my life because I had such a wonderful time during that show, but the high points came with very low points. I feel that relationships before ITW were redefined during that show and what we have today is as almost a direct result of ITW.

That was such a fun yet stressful show. I'm glad that West Side Story happened exactly a year later, just because I had such a wonderful and very positive time with WSS, even with all its imperfections. I'm really sad and regretful now it is over. But now I'm very much looking forward to the one acts. I found a great monologue thanks to Sarah. I'm not doing Spotlight which relieves a huge weight off my chest because if I had done it, I would have been very stressed out in all areas of my life and not be able to enjoy what I was doing. I think my Clinique interview is on Weds so wish me luck!

Much love to everyone.

I just realized I don't want to turn eighteen.

Strange thing is, I've been fine with it for the past month. I've actually been looking forward to it. But as I remember old dreams that were unrealized, I really don't want to. I never wanted to grow up, and lately my birthdays have been full of regrets. Time is passing so quickly; it's getting faster every year.

Whatever happens, I just want to live my life to fullest no matter what. And I hope that as my birthdays role around in the future, I won't look back in regret. I just want to be the best person that I can be.

Hey everyone!
Just a note: Spotlight WOW! Events Night is next week on Thursday, December 20th. It's 6:00pm to 8:00pm and it's when all the kids are presenting what they have learned in their Citizen Schools. The theatre kids are presenting Romeo and Juliet, an abridged version. It's pretty much the main event of the night. They have been working so hard, and it would be nice to have your support. It's at Monroe Middle School in the main gym.

It's also the first show I have ever directed and I am nervous. I want my friends there so I am not scared out of my wits.

Hope to see you there!

Much to love to the Man cast; we kicked major ass. Also, thanks to Kristin for being the best secret star giver EVER! And Niamh for being an awesome person to give presents to.

So, interestingly enough, my make-up has been useful in cases that actually do not have to do with theatre:

Old Nelson (he had left his make-up on after the show) was driving home after BJ's at oneish in the morning, past curfew. He was of course being a very careful driver and going speed limit and what not. But as he looked behind him, he saw a big white truck being pulled over by a police car. So he slowed down even more. He passed the police car just as the policeman was getting out. The policeman squinted at Nelson with a "huh?" expression on his face, and went "Oh, ok" and went back to giving the driver of the white truck a ticket.

So my old age make-up saved Nelson from being pulled over by a policeman for driving past curfew.

Thanks to Nelson for the story.

January: So for New Years I received...

February: I love coming home after a long day after spending however many hours in the Mcafee, smelling of hairspray and my arms covered in make up.

March: There is a really cool online dress place where you can get Oscar inspired dresses.

April: I do not want to be remembered as the bitch, the Jew, the bossy one, the make up artist.

May: Today was a very good day.

June: Mmm...It's been awhile since I've posted.

July: I'm home. And everything was fine.

August: For those who can't go to Becoming Jane with Supriya and who all want to get together and maybe have dinner.

September: Pretty much the funniest video ever, knowing the past between My Fair Lady and Mary Poppins

October: I feel rather accomplished.

November: I thoroughly liked the Wicked bits in the latest Ugly Betty episode.

December: I woke up this morning from a very long and very nice sleep, and the first thought that crossed my head was "Oh, I don't have a show today."

It seems like this summer/semester just flew right by...

In Kristin's theme of Sweeney Todd excitement posts, no wonder the woman who plays Lucy Barker is so familiar looking! Even though she looks completely different blonde. She is Laura Michelle Kelly, who played Mary Poppins on the West End and won Best Actress for it. Not bad, eh?

It's so amusing. I just realized that I write about all the happy things in my life (with few exceptions) on LJ, and write all my angsty stuff in my diary. And then I wonder in my diary why the hell does it appear that I have a miserable life when in reality it's not all miserable. Huh.

I woke up this morning from a very long and very nice sleep, and the first thought that crossed my head was "Oh, I don't have a show today." And that was a slightly unhappy thought.

I am very happy to be involved in a show right now, and Man is going smoothly. I almost feel like this weekend was kinda test run, and next weekend will be the real deal. I think it's just because we didn't have the one weekend show cram session we used to normally do. The cast is wonderful; it's nice to be a part of a family again. I am just extremely content to do my favorite type of make-up, old age.

I was sitting and watching from the wings during some acts on both Friday and Saturday, and it really makes me want to be onstage. It's been such a long time, and I am anticipating auditions for the one acts.

Anyways; the cast is doing a great job, for all the trouble we've had. So keep it up! Let's sell those damn tickets! Because I think 90 people is the lowest we've ever had for attendance of a mainstage show. I think we should have a dress up day; Mrs. Thermond is cool with it, so I think I will propose the idea to Mr. Mahle.

I love doing make-up, I just wish I wasn't so tired and didn't have to buy a new wig tomorrow.

I got a little snappy today during make-up, but I think I am handling myself a lot better backstage than I used to. So I feel like I've matured as a person which is nice to know.

I think that once I get some more sleep I will be less grumpy. I promise I will try to continue to be as nice possible backstage. But I think that it is still rather obvious that when one has a silver spot on one's forehead over one's make-up, that when you take the spot off you should reapply some base. It's common sense. It's also common sense not to drop buckets of bobby pins on the ground.

But things aren't that bad, so it's ok. And doing hair and make-up makes it all better and worth it. Have I mentioned I love old age and I love doing hair? (I really enjoy doing yours, Dilara, even though it's simple.)

Much Love,
Hanah.

P.S. I am so freakin out of it. And I love Last Five years. And Dilara, Happy B-day, once again.

Screw my math quiz tomorrow. I'm sleeping!

You know what makes me happy?
The fact that the theatre department is finally in possession of six brand new curling irons, including a waver. And I am doing make-up tomorrow, even though it will be stressful.

Now back to those stupid college essays...
